RouteConverter 1.32 is ready

The latest release 1.32 from 1. March '10

• contains completely new designed dialogs to insert, complete and delete positions in position lists
• replaces the buttons to insert and delete positions to the context menu on the position list and the Ins and Del keys
• allows to click on the elevation profile and select the corresponding position in the position list
• converts heart beat rate embedded to GPX 1.1 files by Garmin Oregon 550t devices to Garmin Trainingcenter (*.crs) files
• uses Maven for the build process
• fixes a bug which did not recognize most iGO 8 Track (*.trk) files
• fixes a bug which failed to react on pressing the Insert key directly after the program start on an empty position list
• fixes a bug where the map opened only as a small bar on the top

GPSdash

Rainer berichtete gerade von GPSdash: "... die Datei für die Routen muss "GPSdash2Routes.gpx" benannt werden und kann mehrere Routen enthalten. Sie können weitere Routen von externen Quellen in diese Datei einfügen.

Wenn ich extern aufgezeichnete Tracks mit RoutenConverter ins GPX-1.1-Format bringe und umbenenne, wird diese Punktkette angezeigt. Da das GPX1.1-Format von GPSdash gefressen wird, kann man mit RoutenConverter also sowohl Wegpunkte umrubeln als auch Tracks zusammentragen. Man muss nur die Einschränkung bei den Routen den Dateinamen betreffend wissen.

NMEA logs

A while ago, I've implemented NMEA log support for RouteConverter by using GPSBabel. I've implemented this by converting NMEA to GPX with GPSBabel and parsing GPX. For long tracks with tens of thounds of NMEA sequences, this setup can consume a lot of time and memory.

Reimplementing this with just support for GGA sentences gave a speedup of factor 10, which shows for me that it could be worth it. On the other hand there are a lot of different sentence types.

What do you think? Is GGA and RMC enough?

Ich bin gerade erstmals auf Deine Software gestoßen. Speziell war ich auf der Suche nach einem Tool, mit dem ich eine *.gpx (heruntergeladen aus einem Garmin Etrex) zurück nach NMEA konvertieren kann. Das hat sehr gut und schnell funktioniert, nur leider sind die Datum- und Zeitangaben auf der Strecke geblieben. Vielleicht kannst Du die Erstellung von $GPZDA-Telegrammen mit auf die Wunschliste nehmen :)

Im Moment greife ich für NMEA auf GPSBabel zurück und das schreibt, wenn man GPX nach NMEA konvertiert, lediglich $GPWPL-Sentences. Deshalb habe ich mir mal eine ganze Reihe von NMEA Logs heruntergeladen und geschaut, welche der Sentences überhaupt von welche Programmen geschrieben werden:

• Unbekannte Herkunft: GGA - Position und Genauigkeit / Global Positioning System Fix Data
  
• locr: RMC - Position, Uhrzeit, Datum / Recommended minimum specific GPS/Transit data
• GPSBabel: GLL - Geographic position, latitude / longitude
• Unbekannte Herkunft: VTG - Geschwindigkeit und Richtung / Track Made Good and Ground Speed
• Garmin: RMZ - Altitude Information
